What Does It Mean to Ground to Neutral Subtle Energy?

If you've been doing this work or exploring the teachings in the book, you’ve likely heard us mention the phrase “grounding to neutral subtle energy.” But what exactly does that mean—and how is it different from traditional grounding?

In most wellness or energy practices, grounding is taught as connecting to the Earth. Connecting your energy downward. Some use visualisations of tree roots or cords reaching deep into the ground. And while there’s nothing wrong with those practices, they don’t always work for highly sensitive people.

Many highly sensitive people already feel over-physicalised. They're tuned into every texture, noise, and sensation around them.

Neutral subtle energy is different. It’s the stable, intelligent background frequency that underlies everything. It’s not forceful, it doesn’t demand anything of you, and it doesn't carry emotional charge. It’s spacious, light and clear.

When you ground to neutral subtle energy, you’re not pulling yourself “down”, you’re allowing your energy to settle into coherence. You’re gently landing back in your own field, without picking up static from the outside world.

People often report that when they ground this way, they feel:

  • Less reactive

  • More present in their bodies

  • Flying under the irritations instead of triggered by them

  • Less influenced by other people’s moods or agendas

It’s not about detaching from life. It’s about staying connected to yourself while you’re in it.

Some people don’t feel an instant effect when grounding. That’s okay. Like all energetic work, the results can be subtle. Over time, you might notice you’re sleeping better. Or that you’re not getting thrown off by the same triggers. Or that you can be in a room full of people without feeling drained.

Grounding to neutral subtle energy is like giving your system a clear signal: you belong here, as yourself. Just the way you are.
